A race against time: Oblibion on the horizon

How many of you are trying to get as much out of the collector's edition or continue building characters with 1.4 before Oblivion arrives in another month or so? I will move on to Oblivion and expect to stay with the game at least until the next blockbuster comes out. With Neverwinter Nights II, Gothic III, The Witcher, and possibly a Diablo III among the highlights on the horizon. Then there are the lesser games that will come along like the Dungeon Siege expansion to mix in. It seems like RPG’s are ready for a strong resurgence soon. It may be a long time before I get back to Dungeon Lords. However, I really am enjoying the CE and I will keep DL in my rainy day rotation for the foreseeable future.

Agreed, I will be right there with you on all those games with the exception of Diablo 3, after they failed to improve the graphics and said. "Oh we did know anyone cared about better graphics." I left them behind.
Thou I would add, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, it is looking amazing.

I think the saving grace for DL has always been Coop and now they seem to have gotten the game 80% complete or more with CE (havent gotten it yet, just what I hear) it will now be possible to become somewhat of a classic in its own right.
Well if it turns out the CE version is stable on multiplyer, which early version stumbled in some areas.

Thou if I was making a bet I think NWN 2 is gonna be "King of teh World", coming from an incredibly talented team, COOP and massive Mod support.
I would also bet even MMOGs are gonna crumble under weight NWN 2, as many pretend to be RPGs and are successful due to the Lack Coop RPGs.
Why "Play to Play" phoney treadmill attempts at RPGs with no real depth or effect, when you can have the real thing , that is 10 times better?

MMORPGS:

I was a die-hard Ultima Online player. I was in it since it went GA.

it was a fantastic roll playing expirence, and I made several Real Life friends after meeting them online in UO.

Then UO became popular and the 14 year olds (and adults that act like them) spoiled the expirence by acting like a-holes, just because they could.

That is why I will always like single player or cooperative multi-player games. "I" controll the expirence, not some dip-s#$t kid who likes to spoil things just because he can....

I'm anticipating the release of Oblivion which I have pre-ordered, but I'll finish DL CE at least once before moving onto Oblivion.
