Some creatures have an innate resistance to it; others don't. But at higher levels, spiritual damage will be just about the only thing that affects some of the undead and less, well, physical creatures you'll fight.

I wouldn't drop a point here and a point there for different damage types. Personally, I suggest sticking with Frost (since it also paralyzes your victim for a time). Get individual weapons that will deal with the rest.

Maybe it's a stupid question, but how do charms work? I can't figure it out. Whenever I try to use it with an item I'm told that it's impossible to combine it with that one. But I haven't seen any item with slots or similar.

Polymorph:
In my opinion the greatest spell in DD. I love changing an elite Giantorc into a little frog, though hunting that fast beast down can be a little annoying...
Nevertheless it's worth at least one point. My survivalist uses it quite often.

It's skill-based--that is, you have to sink points into a skill to use the little glass ball icons.

Let's say you have one point in the skill, and you have a sword that says it will accept three charms. Equip the sword, and click on it. This will bring up a box showing three charm fittings. Two of 'em are crossed out, because you've only got a point in that skill--so only one is available. Now, click and drop the charm you want to use in the open fitting. That's it.

You can't remove 'em afterwards, remember. I typically didn't use any charms that were less than silver or gold. I sold the rest.

Stun and Spiritual damage

I do notlike stun, because it can make some monsters stay on the map after they are dead, thismeans that they do not drop any items, whcih can be bad if you miss out on the Yit Charms in the Orc Camp.

If You only have 1 point in spiritual damage, it will only affect monsters with a spiritual resistance of 10 or less, if u put five points on spiritual damage, it will seriously affect nearly all monsters.
