Removing bad charms?

Is this possible with editing of game files or a program?

I've tried the item editor, but it doesn't work for me. I've also tried replacing old saved game's inventory files into the new saved game files.. it works.. but the charms are still there. It seems they are stored in the item.000 file, because if I replace that the charms get removed.. but I lose items completely.

Such a old game, I'd be surprised if someone hasnt figured out a way to remove a charm from a item, or atleast restore the item from a older saved game (without the charms).

I would just use the item editor to recreate the item - you may not be able to remove charms with the editor, but you can just make a new one with open charm slots.

Not sure what you meant by the item editor not working - but make sure you install 1.3 and then 1.4
