Which level ?

I read that the maximum level that could be reached in DD was 60, but... which level can we expect to have at the end of the game ? For people who finished the game, which leval had your character ?
Mine is now 34, but it gets harder and harder to reach next level and I doubt I will be able to reach 60...

I honestly don't recall. I think it was in the mid 40's, but I'm not sure. You do know one legit way to gain a quick level...?

It's the genie-inhabited well, in the southeast section of the first large map. You can make only one wish, and one of 'em that's permitted is asking for experience/knowledge. If you do this, you gain one level. That's even if you're level 50: a pretty good deal.

Oh yes, I remember... When I get there I thought it was worth gain 10 points in strength rather than get to the next level... I had to choose between that or between 5 points and 1 skill point... Now I think I would choose the experience

I think I did the same in my last run-through. You end up trying to squeeze out every drop of experience from monsters: too bad the respawning ones (such as the ghosts around the desecrated church) give you so little towards your next level, when you reach 20, much less 30!

Still, in the end, it's more about having a variety of useful skills, great weapons, and gold-imbedded enchants.
