Spells and Repairing Equipment

I'm hoping someone still stops in here

I recently bought this game (while waiting for Knights of the Old Republic to come out in PC format) and found its manual one of the least helpful that I have ever seen. I have two questions.....

Spells- how do you cast a Spell? I'm playing a Warrior who, at this point, has low Intelligence (11) but I spent a Skill point on the Spell "Meteor Strike", but I have no idea how to cast it

Repair- I also spent a Skill point on Repair and I'm doing the steps the manual says to do, but my equipment is still ruined. What am I doing wrong????

I'm at level 4

thanks

Personally, I never bothered with Repair. It requires a good deal of point investment to make it work properly.

As for casting spells, that is discussed in the manual. Or do you mean that only that particular spell won't fire off for you?

Fable, thanks for the reply..........I found out how to fire off a spell (my problem was one of confusion and just not being used to this game's interface). Repair is worthless, I only spent one skill point there and it just seems not woth spending any more. I guess I'll just keep making Geoff a wealthy man.....

am really enjoying the game (although it seems a little "lonely" with no travelling companions around), like the graphics, storyline (which seems a little "darker" than most, as you head south from Rivertown you really do get the feeling of approaching a war frontier)............I hope the developers produce a sequel

Skills

there are some skill that become obsolete as you get further into the game, like alchemy, repair, know creature etc, I played around with different skill combinations to find out which skills are still needed at the end of the game.
