Slasher axe for the Orcs

Finally finished Prince of Qin and started DD over with new (warrior) character.

Regarding finding "Slasher" for the Orcs - I found several axes requiring Identify 2 skill and one requiring Identify 4. I got my skill up to 2 and examined the 2s but none of them said Slasher or looked extra special. I suspect it's this 4 axe but it'll be a while before I can get the skill up that high to see.

Does the axe need to be identified before offering it to the Orc? Or should I just drag them all up and offer them each to him, hoping one of them is the right one?

I'm otherwise finished with the first part of the game and ready to move on.

I thought I'd best mention that one saves more money if they get them identified and then give Slasher to the orc rather than just giving him all the axes.
