| | | There are quite a lot of boss enemies out there that can be killed for a lot of XP and good treasure, but generally once you're out of the first town and crypt, killing lots of low-level enemies may help first, before building up to the tougher stuff.
So, aiming for standard Orcs, boars and wasps that kind of thing. |

| | | Killing Orcs and all that stuff Don't try to fulfill every single quest at the beginning of your carreer. Ravager is right, corresp. to your level kill the orcs, wasps, bees and all that stuff first to reach a higher level. And don't forget to save every 5 minutes. |

| | | Quick levels There's a zombie that you can kill with zero experience at the start of the game. If you search the town, you'll uncover it. You can kill it twice and make level 3 very quickly. All you need is a bow, and the decent ones will cost ~100. After that, I think it's better to head into the crypts to clear out the skeletons and other monsters. Then I clear as much of the outside that I can. Once you do all that, you should be around level 8-10.

| | | Get a frost spell, and at least one level of alchemy. Fill jars with herbs for health, then draw out one or two low level attackers and use the spell to freeze them. Hack away; repeat.
Put all your attribute-increasing points into dexterity, until you're over 50% on to hit, and under 50% on chance of being hit.

| | | I thought the general rule was to put points into Strength until the crypt was complete (or something like that)? |

So get dexterity up, first. Once it's reached a reasonable level, then you can start building strength.

| | Fair enough, I just thought I'd read it somewhere around here. I suppose I often go for strength so I carry at least some of the many heavy items down in the crypt.
More levelling advice- use lots of lure tactics, then yoou can take out lots of enemies in easier battles, especially if there is a extra tough enemy somewhere. And of course, lots of saving so less backtracking is required when you do bite off more than you can chew. |

| | | Strength and Dexterity Forget about Intelligence (only for the mage/wizard) I got up strength and dexterity both equally. So my char (warrior) reached 150 strength and 150 dexterity, 100 vitality at the end. Conc. attributes and skills - besides the specific char skills like mastery of sword etc. most important is that hell sting stuff, freeze and survival instinct. With the last one my char has become practically invulnerable in the wastelands. Freeze and hell stings are both good enough to defeat demona, moriendor, iona, iosephina and cornelius. With the magic jewels my resis have been all at 120. Forget about the magic and physical shield they won't help that much. |

Against a group of weaker monstrs it buys more time to kill a few, then retreat and later return to finish them off. |

| | | Shield Sorry, I'd been talking of the wastelands where both shields are rather useless. Armory, strength, dexterity and the resis are decisive when making it to the dungeon. |

So I would suggest increasing intelligence--but only after 1) dexterity, and then 2) strength, with maybe one or two ticks to intelligence early in the game so you can cast that excellent spell, Freeze. It's a lifesaver, especially when your dexterity is so low that most of your melee attacks don't hit, while most of your opponents' do.
