| Unless I'm much mistaken, that key opens the locked area under one of the main inns (can't remember which), where you'll find plenty of barrels filled with poison. Speak with the innkeeper after you open the door and enter the chamber. I think he fingers the good doctor as the culprit--something you'll want to convey to Hugh.
