Going on the offensive?

Is there a way to launch/initiate an attack? Going through the walkthroughs, we're constantly defending ourselves from attack, but never going on the attack.

This is a very old game and we don't have the manual, as evidenced by our asking on the forum instead of answering our own question by reading it.

The game isn't old at all, having been released in 2002.

If you don't have the manual, I suggest you try replacementdocs.com. If that doesn't help you, post in Larian Studios' website, and see if someone there will.
