Book for Nericon's Garden

OK, so I'm finally going back and tidying up old quests before I go divine. I went back to get into Nericon's garden, and Otto asked me about the book. I don't remember getting a book from him way back when, and I need it to activate the statue in the garden. is there something I'm missing here? I know there's a way to recover items that were lost/sold, but I'd rather do it in a "realistic" way if possible. it's not a big deal (I already got the treasure), but I want to do as much as I can.

The book is actually from the three disciples south of the garden. You could check with them.
