| | | Best game I just started the game a week ago. My character is at level 10 and I'm a Mage. All I have to say is that this is the best game ever in my books. I beet Dungeon Siege a few months ago and I flew threw Neverwinter Night's and so far this game is blowing all others out of the water. If anyone is looking at this forum trying to find a game to play grab this one.

| | You're preaching to the choir. I would suggest you start spreading the word elsewhere, in forums on other boards that discuss CRPGs in generalized. terms.

Yeah, all six of us | Oh gosh, that bad huh? I hope it won't become another PS:T in terms of sales. I came across Divine Divinity in the shops and was wondering whether I should get it or not. I thought, "Oh well, let's go check out the GameBanshee forums." After reading Fable's excellent link to Icecat's thread and this one, I think I will pass, at least until it becomes an outdated and cheap title. |

That said, even though comparatively few of us here on the boards picked it up, it's definitely quite worthwhile. |

Sigh, if truth be told, I am torn among four games; Morrowind (and its expansion Tribunal), Wizardry 8, Arx Fatalis and Divine Divinity. IWD 2 was fun, but ultimately was a linear, die and load clickfest, NWN was a huge disappointment in that the single player campaign was too easy (coming from a novice gamer like me, that is saying a lot!) and I find myself going back to BG2 mods for a quick fix.
That said, I have been lurking around Fallout, LionHeart and Greyhawk forums to find out if they are worth playing. At the end of the day, fantasy RPGs are still my interest.
Decisions, decisions! I guess what I will do is just settle for Morrowind and immerse myself in the game for a while. After all, it was voted RPG of the year by Gamespy. Then again, I heard that its combat is kinda lousy. Or I may even go out of the RPG genre entirely and try RTS or action games for a change. Decisions, decisions... so many good games and so little time. |

| | | Well, if it helps any....
Morrowind I love. Combat in Morrowind -is- simplistic, but in a real-time 3D environment 'simplistic' combat is exactly the sort I'm looking for, personally. Wizardry 8 I love even more, but by comparison to Morrowind it's very dated. DD was a lot of fun, and Arx Fatalis I haven't played.
Fallout really is a great RPG. It's also five or six years old now, so bear that in mind when forming an opinion of it. Lionheart isn't out yet, so far as I know. Greyhawk I don't know anything about. |

| | Ok, thanks again.
I will settle for Morrowind and its expansion and then DD when I finish... which I reckon will be a few months down the road. |

| | | I'd have to advise against Arx. I got it instead of DD (argh!). Arx has an okay story and the graphics are okay I guess, gameplay is like Morrowind. But the combat system is horrible. Based on the number of skill points you get per level/level cap the only way to make a character playable is to dump all your points into one area. So there is no such thing in Arx as a thief/mage etc. So to keep from ranting too much, don't make this a first choice. |

| | Hmm... thanks! No wonder Arx is not given a forum here.
I am going through Morrowind and the world is huge. The combat, like the one you describe in Arx, leaves a lot to be desired, but is bearable.
My nephew bought DD and from his account, it's good. I just have to pay him a visit to how it looks like and buy it eventually.
Cheers. |

| | | the seven of us I finished two months ago, i am overall a Baldurs Gate fan, but DD is the second in fun... (thats the choir of seven of us) although there are a figth with planescape torment for that position... anyway I loved the game and already ordered Beyond Divinity (until now 17 days waiting...)
About Morrowind itīs a great game but dont have the adrenalide rush or the emocional involvement of the baldurīs series(for me at least). Arx Fatalis was not my kind of game but i believe i gonna give it another chance.
ICW2 it was fun but its too simple, just slash and hack. TeoE too buggy to my taste... and iīm out of topic now, so let me shut up and run to my cave.
PD. Forgive my poor english |

| | I bought Divine Divinity for 5.99 Euro a couple of days ago.
Hell, it's a great game. Two days playing and I'm already level 16 - thief/ranger/whatever. I got killed by a nasty trap seconds ago and just before I wanted to reload I looked at the clock - 2 am. I've played about 4-5 hours...that's way too much. ( once again... ). Time to fetch the book I'm reading... ( "The Winner" by David Baldacci. That's gonna be a long, long night - who cares? I have vacations...)
