Well since it is an issue, Ideas for Diablo 3

Here you can post ideas for diablo 3 if it is ever going to be made. My ideas are
-Keep it the same on a 2D system. Not all of us have good video cards and the game itself was and is still addicting to MANY people.
-A character creation system. Like if it is the same system (80 points for ability scores) then start all at 5 and give the character 60 pointsto distribute.
-Make the skills less limited to certain characters. Like have a barbarian that has some primal druidic instincts and can transform into a bear, or have a wizard that speicializes in many different spells and not just poison, curses, and afflictions. Also, if this is to occur, replace the sorceress with a basic Wizard specialist. Have him/her have transformation, imbuing, elemental, or illusionary skills.
-Make the game a little more open ended. For instance, allow the characters to CHOOSE to accept a quest, but for a final quest, keep it the same.
-Add side quests. LOTS of them.
-Keep Decard Cain. He's cool.
-Ressurect Wart for the next one. He was pretty cool as well.
-Have passive skills that give you knowledge of monsters instead of telling you right off the bat.
-Add a place for pauldrons and greaves as to further maximize your character.
-Add dragons.

These are just a few ideas for the game. I welcome criticism and disagreements, but try and be polite about it. I hate flamewars and the like.

Also, post any ideas you would like to see.

couple of suggestions

Hi,
First off some of your ideas are great: Keep Cain, Wart, adding dragons are a few. One that could use some tweaking is allowing a character extra skills, instead of limiting a barb to druid skills why not make ome of the side quest rewards a single skill of your choice no matter what character it is from. A barb with blizzard or hydra would be cool. Mabye a sorc with with evade. The skills would work nicely but not too well due to lack of strength, dexterity, mana, or vitality. One other feature that might be nice is items for purchase would be based on character stats so when you need an upgraded piece of armour or weaponry at level 35-40 the stuff for sale is not level 20. Lastly keep the gambling!

My first and foremost desire for Diablo III if ever there is one is: make changes substantial enough for the game to feel entirely fresh and new! Do not only extent D2X, make some principal changes and introduce new systems.

Increase the need for combat strategy and do not flood us with ridiculously powerful items too quickly. Make more mixed monster packs. Increase flexibility in character builds.

well, if you gave the chars the ability to take other chars skills, wouldnt you basicly be making a bard, a jack of all trades? the necromancer was great, just give him more options for death spells. but basicly your asking for a multiclass system, when not give the chars more choices for there skills, and not everyone elses? i mean, i had fun working in a team with my friends, shouting, "I NEED MANA!!!" or "WHERES THE TANKS!!!!!!!" team work man, its all about the team work, but yes, we need to gather the info on the monsters then just have it handed to us. and having to fight a dragon wouldnt be bad.

I think multiclassing would be pretty cool, but it seems a bit uber. But yet if you think of it, then multiclassing would also help a lot. Character Creation would also be good, as long as you stick with one type of class. And more death spells with the Necro, I agree with Demortis on that one.

Well, in terms of multiclassing and the like, I don't mean like give a barb some fireballs and novas. More like Tribal Druidic skills which are druid skills, but to a less effect. Combine Sorceress and Necro together to make a specialty magick class instead of just death and elemental. Have THEM have transformation skills. Then there is the assassin and Amazon which either can have quite a few of each others skills. Make it sort of like Prestige Classes from DND instead of multiclassing, but make it sort of 1st edition DND. Here is what I mean.

Barbarian- Master of brutal assaults and crushing your opponent.
Level 25 he can advance to the rank of Tribal Bear or wolf Lord, and at level 50, he can advance as Pack Leader with many new skill selections.

Fighter- A master of weapons and arms.
Level 25 can advance as a Hero or Ravager. At level 50, Paladin or Marauder.(SP?)

Wizard-
Master of basic magic.
Level 25, he can advance as a materializational (Summoning and Transforming) expert, or a Elemental Expert. And at level 50, same titles but Master instead of Expert.

Amazon-
Level 25 she can advance as a huntress or (Insert female battle expert here) and at level 50, Valkyrie.

Assassin-
Level 25- Monk or Samurai warrior.
Level 50- Ninja or Samurai Leader

Druid-
Level 25- Shifter or Animal lord
Level 50- True Shapeshifter or True king of the animals.

Just throwing out ideas.

if you really think about it, the druid and the assassin are both "multi-classed". the druid is a multi class of the barb with the sorc, and the assassin is a CC of sorc and necro. and if you think about it, it would also be a mind set, an amazon isnt going to want to "cleanse" evil like a palidin might, and a pali isnt going to sneak around and attack from behind like an assassin, or summon the dead to fight for him, but he could curse in the name of his deity. and the barb that has no understanding of what magic is, will not have anything to do with it, aslong as he knows its going to help him he doesnt care. sorry to be a stickler like this, just tryin to be realistic, and i would like the idea of having a multi-class system, but from my point of veiw it wont work, besides who says their going to make a D3?

My main idea is to add different quests in the different difficulties. That is the thing that got me out of D2.

Yes, some differences in quests between difficulties would spice the game up quite much. It wouldn't be so monotonive as it's now...

Also, IMO the "multiclassing" wouldn't work in Diablo. Yes, the game would be more versatile then, but maybe a bit too hard for newbes since there would be so many options...

And lastly, I hope developers concentrate enough to single-player campaign also, since I prefer playing single than multiplayer. And I think it's shame that some games are too concentrated on multiplayer, while single-player is more or less left without proper development.

Consider secondary skills besides primary skills, learnt from books like old school diablo. (Town Portal, Identify, Heal and other generic skills and spells)

Remove death penalities like in World of Warcraft, or atleast make retrieving a corpse not a futile way to loose more experience.

Allow a choice between male or female in classes.

Increase quiver stacks or allow some way of reducing inventory wasted on carrying arrows.

Make every skill unique and not an upgrade of an earlier skill (ice bolt, ice blast, glacial spike...)

20 points into a level 1 skill should do much more damage than 1 point into a level 20 skill. (Better ramping or scaling of skills)

Add a "reroll" button on the gamble screen to add more items to gamble on.

Never add elves.

I want pants. I know it sounds like a joke, and I was being facetious when I thought of it, but honestly, your character wears everything BUT pants, so why not? The pants get included with whatever armor you wear so it's always a certain look, but maybe the pants can be separate; maybe they'll add somewhat to your walk/run speed like boots usually do.

Maybe--this one is actually dumber, IMO, than pants, but I'll suggest it anyway--socketable rings/amulets. You can buy or find empty rings or amulets and socket them with gems for weak level boosts early on.

Here's what makes D2 more fun than other hack and slash titles:

1. The ability to increase your walk/run speed. (honestly, this is very important, it lets you kill more things and it greatly increases the pace of the game)

2. The game strategy innvolves equal parts charater building, equipment decisions, and tactical combat decisions. Focusing too much on one of those three (or neglecting any of them) results in a hack and slash game that is no fun. As it stands, D2 is very balanced, and I hope D3 is as well.

For example, D2 doesn't let you choose when to block. Having a block % based on your shield and dex makes it so your stat points and equipment choice are important. Also, having it handled by the computer allows you to block from every angle, letting you focus on more important matters.

3. You can click once, and your character attacks until the enemy is dead. It's also great that your character chases the enemy down without you having to tell them too. This feature makes for smooth gameplay.

I hope all of these elements make it into the third instalment. I worry about the talk of putting the game in 3D (I think 3D would be great, but I worry they will be tempted to mess up one of the above 3 items in the switch).

Now, I admit that it has been month or two since I last played D2, but I honestly can't recall that feature. Sure, if you hold down the mouse button character will keep attacking, but just clicking once makes you char to make one attack, and it doesn't start chase monster if it runs away...

Hi all this is my first post yay

Ok

i'm a big fan of diablo 2 i have a big list of what i would like to see in diablo 3 if blizzard bothers to make one

1.A load more weapons that you can equip
2.A load more armor you can equip
3.More than 1 follower - perhaps 2 or 3
4.More armour slots in your inventory
5.More classic enemies - wolves and giant devil spawn and what have you and loads of skelingtons (their the best) rather than loads of strange creatures i've never seen in any other games - i suppose thats a good thing acctualy!
6.A bigger game - The second diablo had a good story to complete but it was just to short the third or fourth times round
7.and lastly perhaps a customizable character or more character choices - i liked the way you could buy and upgrade powers in the other ones.
