| | | Information Please! I have played RPGs for quite some years now and I consider I have some experience gained in the process. I have played Titan Quest and completed at legendary level several times, also played Guild Wars to level 20 (max0.
There are of course a number of other games that I have played. Now, I have heard quite a lot about Diablo 11 and would like some information if someone would be kind enough to help. First, is the game online and subscription only? Also is there an offline play available?? Due mainly to the fact that I am an OAP , the question of a subscription is very relevent. If it is subscription, then how much per month and how is it payable?
Thanks Bannock. |

| | | Diablo 2 online play is free. There is also a single-player offline mode.
Diablo 2 is a fun game. There are about 7 different classes, but about 6 different and unique ways to play each class, for a total of about 42 different play styles. The main thing you will want to focus on is synergizing your abilities. This means putting points into one fire skill will increase the power of all your other fire skills, or putting points into one poison skill will make all your other poison skills stronger. Thus, you will see mages who focus mainly on fire and other mages who focus mainly on ice. The game is a classic point and click arpg. The game is old now, so I think you can buy both the game and the expansion for about 35-50 us dollars.

| | | The online mode is free, as said, but most of the online stuff for diablo 2 is item hunting and Player versus player crap. The single player game is actually quite fun and addicting, due to their being an actual story involved as well, as the thousands of ways you can make your character unique.
Oh, and just a recommendation, don't buy the game unless you're getting the expansion as well. The game is fine on it's own, but with the HUGE amount of added features for the expansion, the original game isn't so worthwhile. |

Single player is incredibly boring, what makes D2 LOD a fun game is the online playing. You can play with your friends or with strangers, you can join various communites with specific playing styles, play with your buddies, play with different people you just happen to meet online or play alone in closed games. Online playing allow you to access aspects of the game that are not available in single player unless you add third-party cheats to your game. Since it's free, there is absolutely no reason not to try online play.
