D2-The rocky waste. Got here went into cave, died several times. Saved and exited game and yes my body was in the town. Wrong flipping body. No armor, no money nothing!!!!!.....Now I have to start all over again. I wish there was a way to load a game that was saved yesterday...oh well!!!!!!!

Just a note, you would have lost your money anyway, as all the gold in your corpse does drop next to it, not inside the corpse. So, when exiting the game and reentering, everything else should be there but gold...

Though the loss of items sounds like bug...

If you die, pick up an item while you're trying to find your corpse, then die again, your corpse will be that of the last death.

Also, if you stay in the same game (after dying) and don't pick up your body after a certain amount of time (maybe 8 minutes at a guess) your corpse disappears

This is not a glitch, bug, or any such thing. You lost all your items because the first time you died, your corpse with all the items was in the cave, and when you went back to the cave you were "naked" and died again. And again. And again?

Anyway, when you save and reload after that happens, you are greeted with your last dropped corpse, in your case this happened to be a naked corpse.

To avoid this, you must make it your main priority to get your corpse full of items back before saving and leaving the game.

If you die more than once, leaving multiple corpses on the ground, you will be hard pressed to find that you will only be rewarded with the most recently deceased corpse.

Not true, I've died several times in one area and saw 6 or 7 of my corpses around while beating the snot out of Duriel, after that, I saved and exited, then went back in and got everything back.

This is a bug.

Is this a single player or multiplayer. D2 handles up to 16 bodies, then it will be weird. Anyways if this is SP you can save the progress, the savegames are in the \saves folder, just .rar them whenever needed.

I believe that if you die multiple times and then quit only the body with the most expensive items gets saved. That means that you could potentially loose all your items by dying, picking up some rare items with crappy but costly mods, die again and then exit.

Did you pick up items when trying to retrieve your corpse? Saving and exiting will only save one of your corpses with items on it. Also, if you die more than 16 times, I believe you lose your first corpse.

D2 is supposed to save your oldest corpse with items on it. If you die and drop a corpse, then pick up items along the way and die again, then you have two corpses with items on them. If you pick up your original corpse and die again, then the corpse with all your gear on it is no longer your oldest corpse. It is on the 3rd corpse you made.

Yeah, I had the same problem once, completely lost a rogue in act two in the arcane sanctuary. Does anybody have tips to get past the sanctuary by the way?
