Druids can use either one or two handed weapons. I know that if you make a werewolf Druid, he can use two handed mauls with good effectiveness. A werebear Druid is harder to build, but I like it's Shockwave capability. You'll need Increased Attack Speed items to make a decent werebear Druid. As far as armor goes, the Druid can wear the heavy armor just like a Barbarian can. In fact, you're probably better off with putting points into Strength over Dexterity in order to use the better armor and weapons. This is just my opinion though, and I do recommend that you do a search thru this forum for ideas on builds.

With Druid you can play in two ways. first is to make a spellcaster druid with summoning skills and elemental skills.other way is to make him a powerfull fighter summoning ang shapeshifting skills.both ways are good and if youplay with him patiently hi can grow in a very strong character.it is up to you!

Reguarding Druids

I gave up my lvl 94 hammerdin to make an SS Driud. Some may call me crazy, but after having my hammerdin for almost two years....it gets kinda old. I ended up making quite a decent SS Druid. I found it to be more fun than an Elemental Druid. His gear was amazing he had: Ap Fort, Cerebus, Dracs, Uped Gores, 2 Perfect Ravenfrost Rings, Metalgrid Amulet, ThunderGod's War Belt/Verdungos'(I switched between the two.), Perfect SS Monarch, and Griefz. He was an awesome pvp Druid until he was hacked. But if your looking for a fun druid to make try a shapeshift/fury Druid. Almost like a zealer pally, but different in so many ways.

For a Necro, I would suggest the Barbarian class instead of the Druid class.
