Does Battle.net still work?

is the original diablo still supported online through battle.net? cuz i cant seem to connect so im wondering if it still works...

as of 10 months ago i was able to connect to the diablo.net site and play diablo. granted the lag was horrendous, its still chalk full of cheaters and the game play seems weak now, but it was up and running...jogging....walking....crawling along
