Can't use sword

I got an amazing Grandmaster's collossus blade, 2 hand damage 178-316, but when I personalised it and added sockets, the game froze as soon as I hit a monster, has anyone had this happen to them, and is there anything I can do to make it work again?

Do you have more than one character who can use this sword, or do you have some friends who can try the sword with their chars?

Just a little question:are you playing in Diable in Net,or just single player?I never heard of that problem ever before too,but if all else fails then you just need to make a new sword.

Am I to believe that the game freezes every time you try to actually use this weapon?

Check your video settings, often if the game freezes it's something to do with that in particular, strangely enough.
