When to start a Campain

Hello~

Im starting to do reasearch for running a game in Forrgoton Realms. I really like the setting, and am looking foward to running the game.

The biggest chalange for me is trying to figure out when on the timeline to start.
I have some ideas for my game that should happen before and after 1358, respectivly....However, I have no idea how to approach that particular year....

Has anybody ran through this Time that may have some suggestions/ideas on how to tackle the time of troubles?

Is it better just to mabee let that year pass?

Ive also been haveing trouble finding any kind of narative about it. Anyone know of any good article sthat gove a run down of the time of troubles?

thanks for any help on this...

I would definitely make it after the time of troubles, that way the religion system works in the more effecient way.

Running before or during the Time of Troubles is problematic, as you'll be looking at really early FR stuff, and have to convert it over to 3rd Ed. There was a GenCon module set during the Time of Troubles, where the PCs were godly avatars, but I can't remember its name. You might be able to find it for download somewhere on one of the older ADnD sites, like www.adnd.com

Otherwise, I'd personally go with the current setting, which is pretty available at any games shop. Easy to set up and easy to run!

Cheers,
TGHO
