| | | Yup. Talwar first drew blood at the age of 5. He is a little messed up to say the least. He saw his family butchered infront of im, so he did what any 5 year old would do. Go a bit insane. He basically ended burning some men alive in their tent. Geldyn helped him set the fire. |

| | Not quite how I pictured events after my post.
I my mind the sergant was the only one approching Yolta. So I had hoped for some time to cast a spell when he went to get the guard.
No problem though.
I'll work with it, after I read the posts after yours.

"Virrilis, Sethin, Ferchen and Rail rode a couple more miles with nothing imparticular happening. A camel spit, and Rail suffered from slight desert fever." |

| | @CM: Okay, that makes sense. I'm trying to form a better picture in my mind of Geldyn's relationship with Talwar.
@Rob: Well, you knew Geldyn was standing nearby. Unless you planned to cast a spell when the sergeant turned his head...but if you were planning such, you should have either hinted at it in your post, or tipped me off via the Discussion Thread or PM. I did see that possibility, but I was loathe to cut the post short on the off chance that you had something in store. Because if you didn't, then you wouldn't know what to do next, as I basically would have given you nothing to go on. I try to avoid that. Since Talwar showed up and sealed the situation, I'm afraid I can't change it.
@Aegis: Five minutes story-time can stretch on for quite a while, can't it?
@all: I REALLY have to get some studying done this weekend. No posting for me until I make some headway. I might post a couple more times, but don't expect any regular posting until after my last exam Thursday. My exams aren't going to pass themselves.

| Yes, I know.
I new it when I posted, but since I turned the pc off and I was too lazy to edit, I desided to hope for the best.:P
@ScardyBob
Your characters seems to recognise my character, though he forgot who he is. Would mine recognise yours to?

Most likely not, some of his thoughts and recognitions are from previous experiences and some are not his own. Although he recognized you a little, you probably have not seen him before. |

| | Well, another brief (ha!) post on my part. I did this one in attempt to recapture some of what Rail was like in the last two stories. It should be interesting to see if I can keep it up. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed.
Note: Man, I'm still not used to writing as many non-combat posts as I have |

| | @Aegis: What's this artifical hand that Rail has? You stated before that the arm was just a stump.
As you're trying to recapture the essence of Rail's character, maybe I can lend some insight. I remember Rail once wrote that mages are a crafty, meticulous bunch, and that was both their strength and their weakness. On one hand, their depth of planning made them dangerous opponents...but on the other hand, it also made them predictable (or consistent ). And that made them vulnerable, to those who knew their ways.
However, Lazal may or may not have fit the mold, as he wasn't really a mage...and being tana'ari, a demon of chaos, may have made him slightly less inclined towards predictability.

| | | Remember how he has the gauntlet'd hand? I've described it once as being a stump, but since (at least I believe I have) described it with the gauntlet hand. |

| | And so a gauntleted hand it is, eh? His whole arm is a non-magical metal construct then?

| | | Not neccessarly, but the magical artifical hand has to brace somewhere, hence the gauntlet part Thats how I figured it. Isnt' that what he used to have? |

| | | My error--I meant forearm, not entire arm.
I'm not sure I understand you. Let me make sure we're on the same page. Rail lost his forearm in the fight with Raistlin. Magus made him a magical replacement (which was permanently bonded to his arm with magic). The magical replacement was destoyed at the end of Athkatla II.
So, back to the point, is this new gauntleted hand just a non-magical metal gauntlet (with fingers) that has no real use except for looks, or is it some sort of magical one that moves like Magus had crafted for him originally?
