@ScardyBob: You seem to be neglecting to check your PM's.

The intrigue grows. Well, I'm trying to move my end along a little bit and join up with the rest as soon as I can. Also, as you can see, I've thrown an interesting twist into the story, I think, and should cause some interesting tension. Hope you enjoy.

@Aegis: Hmm...such knowledge on Virillis's part would have greatly altered the final battle in Athkatla II, I'd wager. Of course, then they probably would've both been dead by now.

@all: The next week and half will be crunch time for me, with finals and all, but I'll post as much as I'm able. I tried to compensate by posting often over the last few days.

@Magus: Well, I didn't think much about it at the time, but that was partially because you didn't want me writing the whole ending again... We all remember Athkatla I, now don't we

I'll probably take the time and do my part on getting them out of Calimshan, and on the road to the Nethril region

*Rereads his own last post of Athkatla I* God my writing sucked there. It was probably for the best that you wrote it.

As promised I managed to get something up. I'll see if I can post something more later today or tomorrow. For now I wanted to wrap up what I already had going before I got myself entangled in something else.

@Aegis: Wait a minute...on the road? You do realize that the entirety of Athkatla II spanned only a few days... I can hardly believe that half a day has already passed. I would rethink your method of transportation.

Post some info requested by magus

The Arcane order is a well-established college of wizardry. Here, magic is taught an researched, and members benefit from from sharing their knowledge.

The order is well know arcoss the planes as it is one of the best magic schools around. It's common knowledge, but naturally not everybody knows about it.

The headquarter, Mathghamhna, is located on a island in the Moonsea and is very castle like.

Japheth Arcane is the chancellor and runs the college and directs it's reseach. Under him, there are the regents, they instruct apprentices and low level casters. They also advice Japheth.

The Orcer has a spellpool where members put spells in, these spells can be used by all the members, but they have to have an open spell space in their spells per day for that level spell. To use one spell, means the member has a debt per spell level.

I think "across the planes" might be a slight exaggeration. Come to think of it, I do think I've heard of it, and it is a prominent institution that is fairly well known in Faerun--mainly among wizards and other educated types. Or at least that's how I plan to treat it.

Sorry about the lengthy posts. I tend to do that on occasion

Anyway, I felt inspired, and I accidently worked myself in a larger scale skirmish then I had intended, so it kind've dragged out. Anyway, I'm happy with the results. As par usual, I hope you enjoyed it.

@Magus: I'm sure that little Nethril artifact could have something cool and funky that'll traverse the distance more quickly

@Aegis: You speak as if we could tire of your writing. You do things with combat I could never reproduce.

Ah, the artifact. Who needs walking when you got volatile ancient magic at your disposal?

That's how I ment it.
Not to self: avoid word, 'planes'. It causee confusion because of it's multiple ways of interpretation.

edit:
@magus The guard thing, nicely done.http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/im...ons/icon14.gif

Just something that dawned on me. In the previous Athkatla's, I recall some slight issues with time continuity. Maybe it we should make it so only Magus is allowed to progress the day/night shifts, that way we peons of his don't inadvertantly move it ahead to fast.

I think this will allow Magus a little more focus on the story, and not worry on whether it's chronolgically fallins together. Thoughts?
