Lightbulb Campaign Ideas

Alright, put your campaign ideas for Forgotten Realms here!

The kind of idea that would make any DM proud and have the players saying 'Boy, is this exciting!'. From a pirate's treasure hunt at the Sword Coast, defending a castle in one of the Dales, exploring ancient ruins such as Myth Drannor, fighting the Thief's Guild in Calimport, holding back savages in the Jungles of Chult, post your ideas for adventure here, using the regions of Faerun as the background setting.

By the way, I really do need ideas. I will go back to DM'ing this wednesday, after many months of not playing, and I got to get my brain whirring again.

Thoughts? http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_5.gif

How about a ring... and the characters need to destroy it?:P

Seriously now, there are a lott of good quests on the wizard of the coast site. Do a search for free adventure.
I recommend 'The ettin's riddle'

There are so many possibilities that I thought know where to start. I suck at making a list of idea's though. besides, I don't have the FR setting book yet so I'm not familiar enough with FR.

How about letting the players play through BG and all of them are Children of Bhaal?

Yeah, I ended up using the Vessel of Stars from WotC. It actually worked out reasonably...though I think the lack of players (only 3 players) hurt it a bit. The adventure hasn't ended yet, so I'm leaving it for next week.

One of the things I noticed since coming back to play, is that I hate, as a DM, having to look up every minute something or another that is system-related. What is the bonus for flanking? How much concealment do I get here? What about cover? How many feet am I away? And then I have to look up monster stats in every fight...look at their resistances...if the NPC is a spellcaster, I have to decide which spell he will use, what the DC save will be.

Honestly...all I did yesterday was jump from DM's handbook, to player's handbook to monstrous manual the whole adventure. I should just memorize all the rules.

To keep the story going, I usually make estimated guesses.
I look things up later.
