Question About the elemental/magical affinities of dragons...

It seems like throughout the Forgotten Realms, it seems that each color of chromatic dragon seems to have a certain element to their breath and their resistances. These are the ones I've noticed so far.

Black: Acid
White: Cold
Blue: Lightening/Electrical
Red: Fire

What about Green Dragons? Also, what other chromatic colors are there, and what are the magical properties of metallic dragons? I've always been a fan of such creatures, and so I've been curious to know more about all this.

Chromatic dragons:

Black dragon - line of acid
Blue dragon - line of lightning
Green dragon - cone of corrosice gass (acid)
Red dragon - cone of fire
White dragon - cone of cold

Metallic dragons:

Brass dragon - line of fire or cone of sleep gass
Bronze dragon - line of lightning or cone of repulsion gass
Copper dragon - Line of acid or cone of slow gass
Gold dragon - cone of fire or cone of weaking gass

They are all immume to their own element and vulnerabil to the elemet opposite to their own. (if there is an opposite)

Cool aren't they?

Wow, that's... quite a list. Though I think that Silver Dragons are missing from the list. (no biggee, though)

I was inspired to think about this all since you can make armor from dragon scales in BG2, and since there was apparently a suit of Bronze Dragon Scale Armor (or something like that) in Neverwinter Nights. If I remember right, the bronze armor gave a light resistance to lightning, and some meager immunity to some status effect.

BTW, I never knew there were BRASS DRAGONS at all! Interesting. I wonder what it would be like if there were, say, Prismatic dragons.

Is that all for types (as in colors or what-not) for dragons in the Forgotten Realms? Still, thanks for your help, Robhin.

woops, I forgot the...

Silver dragon - cone of cold or cone of paralysing gass (immunity to acid and coll, vulnerable to fire)

Those are all the dragons there are... well almost.

There is a pseudodragon - improved familiar
Dragon turtle - like the name implies
Dragonne - part dragon part lion
Dragon linch (sp?) - a dragon that got turned into a linch... pretty tough.

Those are all the dragons I know. Don't think there are more though.

Any time, glad to help.
