Games that I have missed.... and eventually forgotten

The thought of Deus Ex and the many comments by people on how great it is makes me wonder why I glanced over it and eventually forgotten. One can say that it jogged my memory as to how I come to know of this game. I was visiting some friend of my sister's in another town in 2000 and that's where it caught my eye.

Saw it, but never bothered to take a close look as we were about to leave by then. Came back, did some research and found that it is out of bounds for my computer at that time (P2 350, 64MB RAM, nVidia TNT card). It became a distant memory sooner or later.

By the time I got myself a P4 five years later, Deus Ex is non-existent in my mind by then. I wished that I still remembered it so that I could go out and buy it (or at least borrowed it from someone) to find out what is so great about it. Oh well. A missed opportunity and I have to live with that.

So question is, does anyone here ever missed a game(s) you were looking forward to playing but couldn't because of hardware limitations at that time and completely forgot about it in the next upgrade?

P.S. There were other games I missed such as Shogun: Total War, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Warcraft 2 to name a few.

I have never played fallout 1, yes shoot me. I played fallout 2, thank goodness but it was already on the market for almost a decade (time goes by). Anyway, after finishing the game I remembered fallout 1. I remember the covers on the magazines and the game intrigued me at the time, but never got to buying it since my computer wasn't able to handle it, only saw it being played by my brother at some time at someone else his house...

So I made a copy from the friend of my brother, because I knew that when my computer became better I would play it. I forgot about it when a new computer came. Then when another computer came and I started playing Fallout 2, remembered the first fallout and tried to install it after finishing fallout 2. Guess what? A message came up the screen saying my computer was too advanced for the game... Cruel fate! Yeah, I guess I could download it, but the feeling just isn't there anymore...

Along those same lines....I actually bought the first KOTOR.
And the machine I had, would not run it...so I stored the game in my headboard of my bed...and forgot about it till I had my new machine for over 3 months...
Turned out to be a pleasant surprise to finally remember buying it and then playing...
