| | | Wpn Selection. ToB duel wield character. I have a duel wielding Kensai which I have been toying with for quite some time. Having fun with everything in SoA and finally coming to the end, I was looking for some expert opinions on the best 2 one-handed weapons available in ToB. |

| | | I recall there were several threads about the best weapons in the game and one about the best offhand weapons. Try using the search feature to find them.

| | I'll leave this thread open for fresh opinions, but by all means use our search function (try "weapons" or "single") to find old threads with tons of advice on this. It's really been a popular subject, and everybody seems to have a very definite point of view.

| | | I did. I tried numerous times before making this thread. Maybe it was the wrong keywords, but nevertheless I did try to do so. |

| | | I'm assuming you're a pure Kensai. Just a suggestion, but you might really want dual classing a Kensai to a Mage, Thief or Cleric, maybe once you start a new game. It's very fun and strong.
For offhand you should use Belm +2 if you want more attacks per round or Crom Fayer if you want to hit harder. The main hand would depend on what you were fighting. For undead I'd use Runehammer, for resistant enemies I'd use the Answerer, for spellcaster I'd suggest the Spectral Rand.
My personal suggestion however is Axe of the Unyielding +5 in the main hand and Yamato +4 in the offhand. This combination will give you -2AC and +1 Con. Since you can't wear armor, you need to work on your health and AC in any way you can. The axe gives you a 10% of a vorpal hit (instant kill) which reduces your time in melee, hence under attack. Also, by putting points into axes, you're improving your damage and speed with all throwing axes, which are the only ranged weapons, aside from throwing daggers, that Kensais get.

| | | For starters I used axes as the main weapon. Stonefire can be aquired pretty early in the game and the I used what weapon in off hand that had the best abilities. When I got belm, it was in my off hand pretty much until the end of SoA.
I was looking for the perfect setup in ToB. I -will- hit on every atk andI've done that through the game so far. A very few misses have I experienced with my character Faloz Impritos. Battles also never last long and it was ofc hard to solo so much of the game, but it was worth the while. |

| | | I think Foebane and flail of the ages are the best weapons in the game. Foebane because it is so powerful and flail of the ages because it is so powerful and available so early.

| | | Really? I'd hardly consider Foebane +5 powerful.
Besides "because it's so powerful" keeps me in the dark as to why you think it worthy of being the best weapon in the game.
Again, for a Kensai, I'll still keep to those suggestions although many prefer the Hindo's Doom +4/Celestial Fury +3 combination.
Are you soloing the game?
You will need all of the AC you can get, trust me. Foes in ToB are considerably harder and if you're judging the entire expansion by your SoA experience or your early ToB experience, you are in for a surprise.

| | | For a kensai in ToB AC is irrelevant. You'll get hit most of the time anyway. Killing quickly and regeneration is what you want. The Flail of the ages dishes out loads of damage and can slow the opponent.
Foebane in main hand will make you near unkillable. You'll heal 1-4 hp every time you hit an opponent and this will also go above your maximum hp.

| | | Still, it's not that much. In melee, you'll often be taking so much damage that the Foebane drain is insignificant. It's best to use a ranged weapon when possible and improve your overall hitpoints. It really depends on what foe you're facing. I've only used the Flail of Ages as a Kensai/Cleric, and that's because my strength was a constant 25.
