Post TOB weird sound problem

I'm wondering if someone can help me out. For some reason, some of my sounds in the game (like spellcasting, that clicking sound when you try to open a locked chest, picking a lock, the "thump" sound when someone gets hit) are VERY low in volume and i can't figure out why. i checked my sound settings within the game, all are at max volume. i checked the BG Configurator, nothing out of the ordinary there. Did anyone else ever have this? any ideas? by the way, i just finished shadows of amn without having this problem. and i just updated my sound card driver recently too, so i don't think it's that. playing the game isn't the same without those sounds!!

If the game was working properly before you installed the updated driver, then it's the most likely culprit.

What kind of sound card do you have?

If its a Creative Live card try disabling EAX in game and removing the creative launcher from windows or at least make sure it's set to no effects. You might also try double checking the driver making sure its the correct one for your card. If its the right card try removing it and then going into safe mode and deleting all the .inf files beginning with the letters ct, this will keep the system from installing the "bad driver" again.

Then install the driver and again and see if the problem is solved.

Hope any of this helps you

Good luck
