Stuck in watcher's keep

Hi, I am new to this board, so I just want to say this place is really looking cool. I'm playing the BG series for 1,5 years now and still love it.

But I have a problem in the Watcher's Keep. I am on the third level and have assembled the Scepter of Radiance, but I can't go through the next portal.
Even with the complete Scepter it keeps telling me that I require something to pass through it.

I have consulted many walkthroughs and faqs but couldn't find a solution.
Is this an unsolved bug, or did I forgot something.

I hope you can help me.

I think you need to gamble with some demon or devil.

Hey there. I'm stuck too. But in a different spot.

I'm stuck in the "Mess of Demons Level" - something like 7-8 of them. It is the same level where I find the "Purifier". The next room - hoo. Let's just say the fight is over quick. I use Prot Evil 10' - I suppose I could create cannon fodder - but they just kick my butt really quick. So much so that I started over with my wizzie party.

I don't think Prot from Evil will help you much. That only really works against demons you summon yourself. The thing you want to protect against is Stun and Fear. Since you can't cast spells in the room that leads to this one, you have to have Aerie load Frea Action, Remove Fear and Haste in a spell trigger so she can cast it on your tank as soon as the fun starts. The Haste and Remove Fear will protect the entire party.

Also, have Imoen load a triple Abi Dalzim in a Chain Contingency to soften up the opposition.

I am not sure if potions will work in the dead magic zone, but if they do, that would be another way of buffing up before hand.

Also, you will want to have your main tanks protected from level drain. Runehammer, Mace of Disruption +2 and Amulet of Power will do this for free. Go after the Succubus first, so that she can't drain anyone who is not protected.
