Question about high level Spells in combat...

Are there any counter spells that I can use when one of my party members gets hit wth an anoying confusion spell and is rendered useless in combat situations?(or chaos spells and the like) I cant seem to find the correct spell to couter the effects...a simple dispel magic counter doesnt work...

Dispel magic can work. There are factors that go into whether or not a dispel magic is successful. Reread the description of dispel magic.
