Monks fists

I was discussing about this with Luis Antonio and we weren't sure how it is so here's the question:

does the monks fist raise above +3 considering what it can hit? for example, can you hurt gaxx by the time you've reached higher levels with ToB?

My point is that at the end of ToB you should be able to hit Kangaax, for example, even though the game built text does not show this.

Anyone knows what happens?

To hit a demi-lich you need +4 weaponry (or equivalent) IIRC.

So in SoA xp cap you'll be able to reach, say, level 16-17 with the monk and never be able to slay the demi lich. Hm, bad business there.

But with ToB installed I'm pretty capable of raising mayhem and killing everyone and all. Nobody on BG needs +5 weapons, aye? Even Amelissan and Demogorgon are beatable with +4 weapons.

I think the cap may be at level 20 if the HLA's start at 21. And you could always temporarily arm a monk with a +4 weapon- he/she just wouldn't be as effective with it.

As far as I know you're correct. It would be ridiculous if you needed +5 just to hit stuff (outside of spell protections).
