Post Mellisan, blah

Having come to the last battle with mellisan, I have found it to be quite impossible. I have no way to stop her from holding or stuning by people, beyond dispelling it after the fact. I think that perhaps my party is not really capable of winning this battle. Between summoned creatures and setting traps where mel appears, I got through two battles, but then I'm basically screwed. I don't have wish, as I brought in an old sourcerer who's wisdom sucks (bad decision, I know). I run out of healing, summoning, and damage spell, and high level fighter abilities, so one more battle, let alone two, seems impossible. To make matters worse, my characters are all at about level 25, and none are dual or multi class. Apparently this first run through thrones of bhaal may be a loss. Thoughts?

Try installing Ascension, supposedly it changes the entire final battle with Melissan, you can get it at the planet baldurs gate files place.

It won't alter your save games though.

The most obvious solution is to lower the difficulty level of the game. Others are more complex, and involve a combination of summonings, magical resistance lowering, area effects, etc.
