Installation problems- please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just bought ToB today, reinstalled it and BGII on my computer and sat back, hoping to play ToB and kick some devil ass.

BUT, after clicking on the play button on the ToB screen, I get a prompt coming up headed 'Software Protection Error' saying 'Please insert original disc'. So I opened and closed the cd player and reloaded it....and it happened again. And again. And with all the BGII discs as well. Both my copies of BGII are totally legit, and bought with my hardearned cash from a reputable shop.

So, can anyone help? Any ideas on what to do? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd back up my saved games before I really started tearing into the problem. Search the Internet thoroughly for BGII, ToB installation difficulties. Chances are, it's happened to someone else. Worst case, uninstall ToB and SoA and then reinstall SoA, reimport your saved games and make sure they check out (no corruption). After that, try installing ToB again. Save any patches or updates until after you've installed both games. good luck.

I think the ToB patch was supposed to solve that problem. If you don't have the patch get it here

Thanks. Managed to get a patch and have been kicking some vampire ass.
