help with draconis please

I've just finished my exams and started playing through ToB from where I left off ages ago.

Having gone through Sendai's ecclave without a problem but got stopped in my tracks at the start of Abagizal's lair by Draconis. He can't touch me until he becomes a dragon when he slaughters me every time. Nothing I do seems to hurt him - help I fear is required

My party is a cleric / ranger, Keldorn, Minsc, Imoen, Jaheira and Jan
