F/T and use scrolls, otherwise F/M, F/M/T are just too many classes to manage.

When on high level F/M/T is incredibly insane... Cast a mislead, go into battle, and slaughter it all, with or without backstab, without being noticed at all nothing can touch you.. well nearly

FMT is great.

P/I drop traps, summon planatears.

Mislead, Backstab everything including the pesky improved FGs

FMT with XP cap removed is probably the strongest class out there and you get an insane amount of HLAs.

One true sight from a F/M or a F/T using scrolls and there goes your mislead, invisibility and chance to backstab, after that your low Hp will get you killed no problem.

A F/T or F/M of the same level as an F/M/T will have a lot more hp becaues of the disadvantages gained through multiclassing first of all after that by lack of fighter levels because of the exp needed to keep your other 2 classes balanced.

F/M/T's are not a very good combintion and becaues of UAI a F/T is a lot stronger then a F/M/T, and a F/M is close behind him.

FT is good and yes the classes get higher then FMT, however the FT does not get Project image, timestop, IA, Dump planateers and traps.

and yes one true sight will remove Mislead, assuming you are still alive

Edited out Timewalk to Timestop... I play way to much MTG

Well naturaly you should always have a divination active if solo, oracle IIRC at 5Th level will actualy last for a duration like find traps, im not sure havent played BG for a long time.

And yes he can get timestop, project immage, stoneskin as well as any scrolled spell, he cant acses level 10 spells such as comet dragons breath, IA energy blades and so on, other then that UAI allows him to use any scroll, wand or item assuming the character meets the stat requirements.

The difference is that I can drop a pi, timestop, IA and drop 5 planataers drop a bunch of traps all between when your oracle/truesite actives and the next time it activates.

The true munchkin/cheeseness of a FMT doesn't get realized by either FM or FT.

I really think you miss the value of having them all together. Sure you lose out on 10-15 hps and yes your fighter is slightly better, however not enough to matter for the AC that a FT gets.

Stick to the title.... He said Fighter/mage/thief, OR Fighter/mage, Nothing about a fighter/thief... So stop spamming out his thread.

To answer the question, Id say F/M/T just because you will have the experience cap removed, so you will become WAY powerful.

The decision depends entirely on who you're going to have in your party.

Solo or a small party w/ no thief: FMT

If you have Imoen: FM

Not strictly true. True sight will only negate mislead IF the mislead dummy is in range - there are loads of cheesy opportunities to tuck it away out of sight while the real mage does the dirty work.

No. A F/T will have, on average, 0.6HPs/level extra for level 1-10 - neglecting CON and rounding effects. The Mage defenses (Skins, Mirror image, PfMW) more than make up for the difference.

Completely wrong. Both F/M/T and F/T get UAI, (and a wise player will pick it as the first HLA for both) so it's a wash. Mages have only a limited pool of good HLAs, but all combos mentioned can draw on good ones - only single class mages really get bitten by that.

F/M/T is a very tough combo, especially solo or small group where there's bags and bags of EXP to go around. That being said, it may not be a good combo for you.

Good gaming to all!
