Dualling to paladin?

Is it possible to dual your class to paladin if your stats are enough?I'm thinking about duelling a wizard slayer to paladin for magic resistance and with the holyavenger and tears of bhaal that character can have %100 magic resistance.But if its possible I m worrying about the wizard slayer restrictions.Can not use magical weapons except weapon&armor.what about the boots of speed or gauntlets,bracelers and rings?are they count as armor?

all dual classed characters have to be viable multiclass characters.

i would say, if you wanted your wizard slayer to use the items he is not able to, then dual him to a thief and get UAI
