dual class

I am starting a tob game and trying to make a kensai/mage but when i do this it will not let me use swords what am i doing wrong??????????/

So you dualed from Kensai to Mage, right? Is your Mage's level 1 higher than the Kensai's level? Because you'll need to be 1 level higher than the previous class in order to get the class' abilities.
