I agree that dragon breath is indeed better. The obvious is as stated, ignores magic resis. The only thing thats bad about dragon breath is the slow animation.

They're both equally good. For example, dragon breath only affects one person but comet affects many. So if you want one guy dead, use dragon breath, if you want a ton of guys dead, use comet.

Use Greater Malison, then Comet. Of course, that's a timing issue, isn't it? And we know what spell to use concerning time, don't we?

I'd almost think that a quote should be made popular and used in this case:

"There's nothing a little 'Time Stop' couldn't cure."

No...

It's Area of Effect, but doesn't affect party members.

Dragon's Breath deals 20d10 damage (anywhere between 20 and 200 damage) and knocks surviving enemies back and unconscious. A successful save halves the damage, and, IIRC, the enemy is not knocked back. It is area-affect (about the same as Fireball) and doesn't hurt party members.

Comet deals 10d10 (10 to 100 damage) and stuns enemies for 1 to 4 rounds. Stun, unlike unconsciousness, isn't dispeled by a physical attack. A good saving throw halves the damage and negates the stun. It is area-affect (though smaller then DB), and deosn't hurt party members. It also affects enemies faster, due to Dragon's Breath's longer animation.

IIRC, both spells negate Magic Resistance.

Im pretty sure comet also has a knockback as well, personally I like comet cause it's a bit faster, sort of a panic button spell

Both dragon breath and comet have area affect and wont damage party memebers. Comet does 10d10 dmg (NO SAVING throw) and stun for 1d4 rounds if they fail saves vs. paralyzation, casting time is 9. Dragon breath, however, deals 20d10 dmg(saving throw for half dmg) and knock enemies down if they dont pass the saving throw, but casting time is 3. For comet, the dmg guarantee, and dragon breath, on the other hand, deals more dmg if u got lucky(most enemies can pass the saving, especially boss), so i say they are about the same. Most of time i will use comet cuz the dmg is garauntee, and the casting time is no biggie if u wear robe of venca.

Combine that with a number of other spells, including 'Time Stop', and you're almost bound to turn a battlefield into a smoking crater.
