| | | That's because a monks' fists become magical eventually and thus he cannot hit things protected against such.

| | | Monk's fists go up in enchanted at certain levels - can't remember the exact levels - which mean they become magical weapons. A mage with protection from magical weapons would mean he is protected from the Monk's fists, same with the Magic Golems - since they can only be hit with normal weapons. |

| | | In my opinionn they should still be able to hit someone who is protected from magical weapons. There is a difference between having fists that are considered magical and having fists that can hit monsters immune to normal weapons. I guess it is hard to implement but that is the way the monks fist should have been if you ask me.

| | I agree, the moks damage and thac0 bonus is because of skill not magic, or at least that's what I think.
But of course in the cwazy world that is D&D I guess that some of the magic he becomes resistant to, could rub of on him.

| | | This got me thinking.
Minor Spoiler
The gauntlets of crushing power or whatever that you pick up in the sahagin city, they add +4 to hit and damage. Does that count onto your magical hands?? ie) +6 fists??

| | The gauntlets don't add +4 to your fists, they set your fists as +4 weapons. Curiously enough, though, if you use them with any class other than a monk you still can't kill anyone bare-fisted even though your fists are technically +4 weapons.
It's quite annoying, really. You yell out "I'll crush you with my bare hands!" to Firkraag, and then sheepishly have to switch to a weapon.

| | | They don't maake your fists +4 weapons, they simply give you a +4 bonus to damage and thac0 when fighting barehanded. You still can't hit kangaxx the demi-lich whith these on.

| | | That is Really annoying!!! Mainly because monks are so good in other areas only to be let down by that!
"I can punch through a dragon" Says the monk.
"HAHHA" Laugh the demi lich evily "But your fists arent magical enough to hurt me"
"No ****, its my bare hand! What do you expect!"
Ok, really though, whats the deal with having to have enchantments to hit things!
