Good point, so I'm closing that other thread. That way, people can speak here to the actual writer/compiler of the material.

First of all, I've not taken a look at the videos. I respect the game knowledge, skill and such required to do this, though I don't really see the point! Baldur's Gate 2 is not a hard game if you know how to build your character.

I found it a fascinating watch. Although I don't know why.
Too bad video wasn't higher resolution. You did a SoA speedrun, too, or was that someone else? What was your final time clocked at?
Really shows how much content Bioware crammed into these games. After the short straight line of the main story, all the other quests were just more icing for the cake.
My personal speedrun record for SoA/ToB is 9, btw. Months.

When I watch these videos, I have a few strong thoughts.
First, let's get the obvious out of the way. Wow! To a lay-player like me, that's a staggering achievement.
Second, I actually feel a bit bad for you because obviously, you have learned this game SO WELL, to perfection actually, that I highly doubt you are capable of getting any more enjoyment out of it. Can you enjoy sharing your accomplishment? Sure. But playing the game itself? I highly doubt there's even a sliver of legitimate interest in it for you.
Third, is a sense that you have over-committed too much time to this game. Please don't be offended, it's not meant as a slam. But I strongly recommend you pour that kind of dedication and concentration into something worthwhile like family or finding the cure for cancer.
All that out of the way. Sincere congratulations, that was mighty impressive.

Oh and i dont want a discussion about weather or not speedruns should be made, if you dont apreciate them it's fine but I don't have to know. Quote:

I don't think it's right to think speedrunners have no life considering that we are people who enjoy what they do.
As for enjoying the game... I can honestly say that I have played Baldur's gate 1-2 and TOB so much that I wouldn't be able to find the thrill of it. And it doesn't have anything to do with the run.. I just tought I could find a use for my knowledge. Quote:

Months. | If you take time to read I clearly mentionned I was the runner of the SOA speedrun (the time clocked is written as well... you can download the run). And yes baldur's gate is more about epic sidequests than anything, the best game ever made in my most humble opinion.

Found myself going wow, in watching these.
Actually gave me a few different ideas for the next time I give the game a go.
Although I admit I will not be trying a speed run, some of the tactics used will be put into action on my game.
Good Gaming, DAMURDOC

For me to finish the last segment I have to figure out How exactly the level 9 spell wish work. I cannot understand what kind of pathern in my spells I have to keep for the option " Rest to memorize all my spells" to be enabled. Sometime it works sometime it doesn't but I refuse to believe it's just luck.
If someone have a clue, I could finally get this done... Il keep working on it.

This is not about Wish, but I think, this link might interest you. If you find this technique acceptable, it could help you overcome magic resistant foes more quickly.
