Backstab Question

I've been wondering. Does backstab work with every weapon like staffs? If not, wich weapons does it work with?

If I remember well, backstabbing should work only with weapons that thieves are aloud to use.

Yes, lompo is correct. The original weapons thieves can use (that they can be proficient in) are the only backstabbing weapons.

But you have to watch it,
a weapon like the staff of magi can only be used by mages, so a mage/thief can't backstab with it.

Can a thief with UAI backstab with valygar's katana?

EDIT: a thief can use all melee weapons that a thief can use for backstabbing
