4 stars on 2 weapons?

I've recently started a new game and am dual classing a level 15 wizard slayer to a theif and I have 5 stars on war hammers and 3 stars on 2 weapons(I plan on him using the Crom Faeyr and the Runehammer +5), and I have the option to put a weapon proficiency on 2 weapons as a theif. The description only goes to 3 stars and that means no penalty to main hand and +2 penalty to off hand. Would the fourth star do anything when the wizard slayer class is reactivated or would it just be a waste of a weapon profiency?

If you have 3 * on 2 weapon fighting as a figther and dual to a thief.
Then placing 1 * on 2 weapon fighting will give you nothing when you regain the fighter abilities. You will still only have 3.

Profencies dosen't carry over in that manner.

Well - it isn't really explained much anywhere I think, so it would seem ... plausible at least - that profencies would carry over.
