What weapons can you backstab with?

I think that you can backstab with staves, but I'm not totally sure. Can anybody help me on this one?

I think you can use any weapon to backstab, as long as the character has the proficiency.

I didn't try every weapon available, nor am I power gamer, so I cannot say 100% sure. But, my Fighter/Thief backstabs with her longswords, and Valygar uses his Katana (backstab with Celestial Fury. Never fail ).

I think club(not sure), long sword dagger kattana, Staff thats all i now o yeah and short sword (bastard im not sure)

I know for a fact you may not backstab with a halberd or spear.
