Post unintentional alignment change (spoilers)

I started SoA as a chaotic good elf ranger. Sometime between the beginning of Throne of Bhaal and getting out of Saradush, I got switched to neutral evil.

I only noticed it when I went to use Azuredge and found out that I couldn't because the axe cannot be weilded by neutral or evil characters.

What the hell is going on here? My character record still shows ranger as my class. I still have all of my ranger abilities including the tracking skill and racial enemy, only now I'm neutral evil.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a bug in the system or is it part of the story? (I think) I've chosen all of the "good" lines in the dialogue trees and my party reputation is 20, so I am vexed as to what's happening.

I usually took the "good" path: I didn't fight the dragon, I saved my companion and lost the HP et al, and I kicked Sarevok's butt.

I did however accept Blackrazor and I took the Nymph Cloak . . . so that may have done it for me.

Since I did the "evil" thing in those instances, and my alignment shows up as NE, shouldn't I have lost my ranger status? I'm just a little puzzled.

Yes, by taking blackrazor and the cloak you change aligment to neutral evil.
This is a bug/oversight since I heard of paladins taking the evil path and remained full paladins.

So is this something they're going to fix in a patch? I hope not; it's pretty cool being a neutral evil ranger. Actually, what will I lose by becoming a simple fighter? I won't be able to cast spells or use tracking anymore, but will I keep the HP and WPs?

Just curious . . . I just wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition.

Did anybody find out whether Fallen Rangers or Paladins are able to attain Grand Mastery? What with them being "ordinary" Fighters and all...

Power gamer that I am, I might "accidentally" become Fallen and attain Grand Mastery whilst questing to regain my Ranger/Paladin status
