| | thoughts on paladin kits in my eyes the cavalier clearly comes out on top. he is imune to poison and fear and have some resistances and bonuses to demons and dragons
and is unable to use ranged weapons, wich isnt a big deal, he is a front figther.
then theres the inquisitor...his dispell abilties is easilly emulated with carsomyr, and the fact that with carsomyr you dont risk dispelling your friend's spells..just whack enemies....forget about his hold imunity, use ring of free action..it also protects against slow and stun
undead hunter, you may prefer him for his level drain imunity..but in tob the amulet of power will be fixed so all spellcasters can use it..meaning that a cavalier could have level drain protection and fear..and so on..and hold protection is also emulated with ring of free action.
if you want the ultimate imunity man, in tob, have a cavalier with shield of harmony, crom fayer, amulet of power, and the cloak of reflection |

| | personally, in soa, i prefer the undead hunter (given the large number of undead to fight)
the other two items that protect from level drain can go to other char's.
what will tob bring? the other kits may prove more useful.
but in all it's a question of personal taste.
and what do you do when your cav gets mazed / imprisoned? no offense but it kinda looks like you have all your eggs in one basket.

| | i know from buck satan that TOB is heavilly stuffed with high level mages AND vampires.
but i may consider getting an undead hunter once ive sampled tob's inventory. Id there is any amulets that can top the amulet of power. and if not, no reason to make an undead hunter since you can emulate his best ability
barbarians and monks will loose the ability to wear it, as only spellcasters is meant to use them. given the vocalize and casting speed bonus |

| | personally, i've always given the amulet to my best cleric, since a) they can cast restoration later & b) the vocalize & casting speed boost.
why waste it on a mele char?

| | My favorite Paladin kit would have to be a Undead Hunter.BUt the other day i was thinking and the Undead Hunter to me should be its own class. Because Hunting the Undead seems darker than the average paladin to me.IF it were a real world situation i would become a Undead Hunter for personal reason not because i need to rid the world of evil.I would think you would Hunt the Undead becuase your family or love was slaughtered by some evil vampire or something like that. But that is my thoughts. |

| | I agree with the Cavalier because when you fight mages if you can get up close to the mages then you can tackle them and defeat them. After all your high level too!

| | They are all good classes. However, I tend to favor inquisitors. Their dispel magic is almost instant and is cast at twice the paladin's level. True sight is pretty useful too. |

| | ill rather take carsomyr's dispell on hit ability...with an inquisitor you risk dispelling your own protective enchancements...and once the enemy is spotted, there rarely is time to recasting them all.
and true sigth can easilly be emulated with the book of inifinite spells set to that one |

| | Inquisitor is very cool since when they reach lv34(max) in ToB, dispel magic will act as lv68 dispel magic (means 99% success even in ToB). This will remove hold person, chaos, greater malison, etc from my party and any useful enchantment from enemies. Also it saves a lot of lv3 spell slot for my mage (Imoen) 'cause she doesn't need to memorize dispel/remove magic any more. Also during combat my mage was too busy to cast dispel magic everytime my party members got hold of fear anyway. And paladin's spell is not that good (pure cleric is a way better). Inquisitor in the party will free up lv3 and lv6 (true sight) slots for mage. |

| | Cavalier is **** IMHO. Only people who cant decide between the REAL paladin kits use cavalier because their so mundane. Fear and poison are NOTHING to hold and level drain.
IMO use Inquisitor if you want a more combat oriented paladin because he cant cast spells(the inquisitor is a better wizard slayer than the actual kit)
Use an Undead hunter if you hate vampires and you want someone who can cast spells.
P.S. Does anybody know if the double level of the inquisitor's dispel magic ability works when hitting with carsomyr? |

| | bioware has made the class tables so ALL classes will hit level 40 at 8000000xp...the class to level up the quickest is the thief, but they jump from 39 to 40 will take quite a leap.....everyone, and i repeate everyone will reach 40 in their chosen class |

| | i dont care for the undead hunter's hold protection..it doesnt works against stun or slow...so always keep a ring of free action equipped..and as i said earlier, bioware has confirmed its a bug that paladins cant use amulet of power..another undead hunter special ability down the drain
..with those 2 items a cavalier is much better, for more benefits in total

| I don't know about you, but I sometimes give items to other party members! Crazy aint I!
There are 3 whole dragons in the game and a couple of demons. Compare that to the legions of undead that you face.
An undead hunter using ring of gaxx instead of that free action cr@p is waaaay better than a some punk who specializes in killing the RAREST mosters in the entire game. Plus you can give the amulet of power to someone who needs it.
I don't care if you worship the cavalier, fust don't insult the other kits. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
