Thoughts?

Hello all, I am new here. I am a longtime player of BG2 and TOB, unfortunately I never could get into BG1 as I never tried it until after BG2, and cannot handle the inferior interface. I am something of a Powergamer and a Chronic Restarter. I have rolled up literally over a thousand characters. I always play the game on insane, except that during character creation and when I level up or learn spells I switch it down to easy. This ensures I get maximum hit points per level and learn the spell automatically, saving me time by not forcing reloads if I get a terrible result on level up or what not.
Anyways, this is the most powerful party I have ever found in terms of both capabitity to handle any situation and speed at which level ups occur. Their stats are the minimum I go with. I know some would argue that a few stat points are wasted like int for fighters, as it only affects the length of time the are affected by the level 8 wizard spell maze, but I can't stand the thought of a character with 3 int or cha or anything for that matter. Okay, on to the party.
Main Character:
Half-Elf Fighter/Mage
9+ Str
18 Dex
18 Con
18 Int
18 Wis
8+ Cha
Will get Girdle of Hill Giant str asap. Dual wields and throws axes at the start of the game. Proficiencies to consider are Katana (for the one the grants +1 AC and one bonus 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th level spell) and perhaps Scimitar (for the +1 attack per round one) You need the wisdom for wish spells.

Half-Orc Fighter/Thief
19 Str
18 Dex
19 Con
8+ Int
18 Wis
8+ Cha
Dual wields Katanas (Celestial Fury) and Warhammers (Crom Faeyr for HUGE backstabs)
Half-Elf Ranger/Cleric
18/91+ Str
18 Dex
18 Con
8+ Int
18 Wis
8+ Cha
This character is INCREDIBLY powerful. Uses a shield (Fortress+3 until u hit TOB) Combined with the AC from Full plate plus the various items that stack and grant AC has a ridiculously low AC. Combined with the ability to cast Ironskin thanks to being part ranger is a superhuman tank. Always sent in first to tank everything and take all the hits (which is usually zero lol) Wields the Defender of Easthaven for the bonus AC and 20% resistances to slashing/piercing/bludgeoning.

With this party you level fast and have the ability of 3 Fighters, 1 Thief, 1 Druid, 1 Cleric, 1 Mage rolled into 3 characters. There is nothing they can't handle, even on insane. I would love to hear what everyone thinks about them.

Since you're a powergamer you might be interested to know that Backstabbing adds the strenght bonus damage AFTER the multiplier. So, using Crom gives only about 5-10 extra damage, even in a backstab. If you want insane backstabs you should try an assassin or kensai>thief with the Staff of the Ram...

About the party itself, it definately looks like somthing I could play when powergaming. All of those three classes are insanely buffed when played correctly. I would probably pick a socerer instead of a fighter/mage since you already have some melee damage and a sorc in a 3-man party gaining high levels... well... we all know where it ends up.

As I don't really tend to use tanks other than raising their MR, I would give the Crom and Flail of Ages to the Cleric/Ranger and the Staff of the Ram to the fighter/thief.

But these are personal preferences. If you play better with this party it's up to you, it's definately a worthy powergaming party. Tried the Eclipse Encounter or Ascension final battle with them?

Replacing the F/M and F/T with a with a F/M/T and sorcerer will yield a far more powerful party.
