| | Thief discrimination Anybody know why BG doesnt let thieves of 10th lvl or higher use priest/mage scrolls? That's when thieves start to rock!

Hmm...Doesn't 'use any item' allow thieves to use mage/priest scrolls? I never had my thief use scrolls, but I thought it did allow that? That comes as at level 20/21? So, not quite the same, but it is a definate boost to the thieves usefulness. (This is only if you have TOB) |

| I don't know about ordinary thieves, but kensai/thieves really are the true rock & roll animals of BG II / TOB.
I can soooo identify with my main character

| | I don't know... Thieve's are pretty sweet. I went through the entire Shadow Forest outside the temple of Amaunator with just Yoshimo weilding the Celestial Fury. Stealth, Backstab. Aww yeah, baby.

| | My favorite characters have always been Cavaliers/Paladins, or thieves. Multiple personality I guess. My main question was why BG2 neglected to let thieves use scrolls. Did they not realize that was an ability, or though it would make thieves too powerful? Any thoughts?

| | I think scroll use at level 10 would have been fine for Thieves. Much better than those cheesy traps, anyway. |

| | Personaly, I think the game is trying to force you into having a pc theif. And think about the tension between the Cowled wizards and the shadow thieves if the ST could cast spells. Shudder.
Out of curiosity, would a multiclass t/m join the wizards or the thieves
And why isnt the order of the radiant heart more influentioal in athlatka, that still bugs me
