Starting anew

Well this time i am going threw the game again, but starting off (as always) i am a goody. For him i as going to go cleric/mage simply because i haven't played threw it that way (starting from BGI and going forward). Figure i will get
Jaheira
Khalid
Minsc
Dynaheir
Imoen
and myself for him on the first game

Minsc (sorry i can't leave him or imoen out of the group, they just belong with the good guy!)
Imoen
Mazzy
Aerie (no jaheira this go around because i don't feel like her and Aerie having a cat fight the whole time i'm playing)
Me
the last guy is a bit of a tossup at the moment with (valygar, anomen, Nalia, Keldorn)

Question is, i plan to go threw it again onces with a neutral leader and then again being evil!
So what to make the other two and who to go with them, evil is a bit short handed when it comes to SOA which is fine more xp for everyone then, but i hear that edwin and keldorn get into it randomly and try to kill one another, so i want somebody that A: can rogue for me as i have non (pure evil party) and B: if keld needs to get the boot somebody that can meatshield a bit as well because Viconia isn't that hardest to take down without some good gear and magic protection.

Neutral? Anyone you fancy. Except when they fight.

Evil? Get Jan. Eventhough he's not very evil, he won't disagree with it and makes an excellent backup arcane caster for Edwin. For meatshields, Korgan will do very well and in ToB you can pick up Big S. These two together will be all the frontline fighters you'll need, with Korry wielding Unyielding and Big S Ravager.

Heads *will* roll.

ehh not sure what i am going to do neutral which i should work on because i was going to go good>neut>evil due to the fact that i don't do that well at being evilish (don't really do that well not being a good guy, not sure that is a bad thing though). anyways, evil was saved to last as well due to i want it to be more difficult because i always have a 6 man team running for a short time with a 4 then a 5 would make it more difficult. (was just trying to figure out how to fit it all together to make it work right)
Anyways for neutral party that will be a bit in coming here is a very basic outline for BG2 (havn't done enough looking up on npcs to know about BGI yet but will soon, kinda working backwards i guess.)

Jaheira
me
Imoen (yes she is good but she is in for storyline even a neutral wouldn't kick his sister out of a group!)
Jan
Cern
Haer'dalis (not sure i will even take haer'dalis, not that big on bards personally, they jsut never seem to work well with what i'm trying to do. if not i'll just have a 5 man team and call it good)

As for class, no idea, maybe a wild mage and jsut make him Chaotic Neutral lol

I may have missed something, here, but you do realize that Jan is neutral rather than evil, correct? At least, that's what the system insists. Personally, I find him more chaotic good, if it comes to that.

For your good party I recommend taking an illusionist/cleric instead of a pure mage/cleric. The extra spell per level will help a lot, both in BG1 and BG2.
I'd also consider trading Jaheira for Yeslick in BG1 since she's neutral and gets annoying once your reputation goes up.

I am just playing a completely mixed party for the first time and it is hilarious.
Whilst Korgan has been made lawful good with a helmet., his conversations show his true nature.
I have emjoyed the interaction between Korgan and Aerie, particularly in the Copper Coronet where their different outlooks on life maked for most amusing verbal sparring with Korgan being quite explicit as to his own sexual preferences. I won't tell you what they are, as it would spoil the game. It's the most fun that I have had with the game. Therefore my advice is to have your party as mixed as possible. It makes it more like real life and almost as much fun as real life.

Oh i've had my fair share of mixed partys in the past, what is diffecult is getting one of all one alignment, ok good isn't that hard the others can be a bit more diffecult *evil is the worse... kinda.. got to give them props for having the more powerful characters though *Edwin's amulet for example**

Yeah. But he did ask about a thief for his evil party, and the game isn't exactly overflowing with evil thieves, right?

That's one of the big problems with BGII- the dearth of thieves. Rogue classes have the best HLA in the game, but there isn't a vanilla Thief [spoiler?](except Yoshi... but we know about him), a F/Th or a T/Cl in the whole game! Who thought that up?!?! That is my only beef with this game. The evil rogue is a staple of fantasy- was it so difficult to bring back Montaron or Tiax... or maybe have Shar-Teel a F->Th for the second game?!

[/rant]

(I hope this wasn't too far off topic)
