Spoiler Request - watchers keep

I've just started playing BG2 for the umpteenth time, this time for the specific reason that I've just got TOB and want to see what that's all about.

Now I've done quite a few minor and major quests (Umar hills, Firkaag, Temple quests, Sphere, and paladin stronghold) but I have yet to come across any plot handles that would cause me to want to go to the Watcher's Keep Location on the map.

Even though I have yet to have any character incentive to go to the Watcher's Keep it still appears as blue on my map as a viable place to go. Am I waiting in vain for a plot that would take me there or is it a case of you just go there because it's an available location to get more XP and treasure.

i don't believe there is a reason to go there, especially since you can wait till TOB to go there

You don't get a reason to go in TOB either. It's just like "hey guys, I know we're on a mission to save the world (and our lives) from certain destruction, but I just have this really cool place on the map that I think we should check out, for no other reason than getting 50m3 ph4+ 13w+."
