Sick of Bugs! - Rant with some spoilers

Before I get started, yes I have the latest patches for SoA & ToB. I don't have the Balderdash patch as I have found it created more problems then it solved.

OK, I just scrapped a game where the Jaheira romance wouldn't continue. I tried a number of different things, but nothing could save the current game.

Now that I have started over, and the Jahiera romance seems fine, I can't talk to Bhodi in Chapter 2.

I don't think it is related, but here is what what happened just before I went to find Bhodi:

In the control room of the Planar sphere just before completing the quest, I was just below $15,000. I talked to Lavok & he gave me some money (bringing me over $15,000) & I was transported outside, or at least some of us. My PC stayed in the control room while Minsc & Jaheira were outside the sphere. Valen showed up in the Control room & we chatted. Then Lavok talked with Minsc & J. Lastly Brus showed up in the Control room for his little talk. After this, I tried to get my PC to leave the Control room & received 'You must gather your party...". Talk about frustrating. I reloaded & tried again & this time everyone made it outside & had the 3 conversations outside the sphere. After this I saved (thinking everything was fine) & went straight to the graveyard, where I was alone. I kept playing, going back to the graveyard repeatedly over the next few nights. Bhodi has never shown up. I eventually gave up & just sided with the theives.

My point is I keep on scrapping games because of bugs. It has been out for years now. Why aren't the official patches fixing these? I got so frustrated last night I considered wiping BG II from my system.

Anybody else have some good bug stories? Comments?

if you waited more than a few days to go to the graveyard she will not appear.

She is easy to miss as she is the same colour as the floor, and quite small. Look on the path left of the entrance...thats where i found her

Just to clarify, I was looking for other peoples Rants.

For the actual problem I considered using a CLUA command to force her to show up, but I was too frustrated at the time with the repeated bugs. Overall, I love the game. But sometimes it can get kind of annoying. (Kind of like a spouse I guess.)

Hmm..I couldn't get the priest of Oghma to talk to me about reviving poor (ex-un-)dead Solaufein after fun & games with Bodhi. Not a game breaker, but annoying.

A couple of times I've had mages get stuck showing sequencer icons but without one up (this is way bad-need to revert to saved game), or mismatches between their stoneskin icon & display (nuisance)

I'm not sure if it's a bug or just a funky tactics mod Feature, but we were getting chain red dragon breathed in (improved)small teeth pass before we even engaged the sucker. That was a bit of a nuisance.

That's all that springs to mind - relatively minor stuff, mostly.

I thought the sequencer bug you mention goes a little like this:

If you cast project image with an active sequencer and then save the game or not use the sequencer with the image, the game gets stuck and you're left with the sequencer icon without actually having a sequencer. Confused yet? If you dig hard enough round here, an answer to this one might still be around on the boards.

The worst bug I have encountered is the stutter-step bug.

Its so incredible annoying....
Main reason is that there isnt a good patch for it...

The stutter-step mostly takes place when THE romanceconflict between 2 girl NPC´s, who fight over you, take place. Or when you are transformed into a drow in the underdark....
Luckily there is a patch for the last problem.


When the stutter-step bug takes place in my game, its like... game over
Complete reinstall and starting a new game.....
