Post Question about Magic Resistence

My monk has a resistence of 108. This should mean that he is completely resistent to magic, yet high level magic spells still affect him. Dragons breath would be one of those, as well as implosion. Are these spells just excluded?

Normally, magic resistance kicks in with every spell (even healing). However, there are situations that bypass the resistance:
- spells cast by allied wizards/priests: your character can choose to lower his resistance when spells are cast by his allies. Note that in PnP this means that a mage could trick you, by casting another spell than the one he told you he would complete (you still get a save if the spell allows one, you just don't have your resistance kick in). There are still some exceptions to this, but those rarely come up.
- spells that negate magic resistance: a few spells, such as Breach, completely negate the target's magic resistance.

Hope it helps,
Geert

yes....but if it is indeed every spell excluding allies, then enemy spells should not work. I've had my resistences and other magics affect me spells cast by enemies. I should not be able to get stunned or held, yet I do.

I don't think your Magic Resistance will help against stun or hold effects from enemy attacks. Only spells.

these "things" affecting trought your magic resistance are not considered spells, some habilitites are like this, a good example is the stunning blow and wuivering palm of the monk, they work pretty well on golems wich are 100% magic resistant, the dragon breath is not a habilitie considered a spells
