Parisa

I`m just starting the thieves quests in the docks area. This pillock, Parisa, is doing serious damage to my party and I don`t seem to be able to harm him. When I started to use spells, a stupid prat came in and warned me about it, so I had to stop.
How can I damage this character?
Also, my character, who`s a fighter (level 10) is a real wimp. He`s human and I was wondering if there would be any point in giving him another class?
Cheers

Im not sure who Parisa cant remember but I assume your refering to the angry girlfriend of Mae' Var. I didnt have much difficulty with this one, thou I usually payoff the Cowled Wizards in the government district so I can use spells. As for dualing a fighter I would absolutely recommend it there really are no drawbacks to dualing fighters.

Hmm, Parisa is one of the vampires, right ?
Vampires can only be harmed by magical weapons with an enchantment of +3 (or +2?) or better and are immune vs various effects like blindness, fear etc., and have good resistances vs elemental damage. Additionally they drain levels with their attacks, if your level reches zero the character dies, no matter how many HP you have left...
The best way to deal with vampires is to protect your front line fighter(s) vs level drain (Cleric spell "Negative Plane Protection" for example) and kill them with weapons of sufficient enchantment. Clerics spells like False Dawn or Sunray are very useful, too.

Apropos of this topic, one of the most powerful undead killers you can have in a party, especially if you've got ToB, is...Aerie. Yes, the badly scarred (physically and mentally) little Elf lady could have her own Japanese anime series, if she just played her cards right.

The reason for her power is simple: trigger spells. All those trigger spells that mages get Aerie gets, too; plus, she's the only NPC party mage who learns clerical spells. You can put those clerical spells in trigger spells, and shoot off some pretty impressive combinations as her power matures.

Don't neglect the power of the meek! Once you start tackling the problems of the Undead, consider the value of Aerie.

Thanks for the feedback. In the end she just floated away. I have a feeling that I maybe shouldn`t have been meeting her in this stage of the game. I`ve just been given the Bodhi quest so maybe I`ll meet her again.

Re: Aerie

Another thing that makes her so effective is that she can be equipped with the Robe of Vecna. Not only does this nifty item hasten her mage spells, it also gives her the abilty to whip out cleric spells. Imagine 3 or 4 blasts of Holy Smite in rapid succession

The first couple of times you meet the vampires you have the option of not fighting. If you don't think you're ready you could always avoid the fight.

The Robe of Vecna is sold by the Bonus Merchant Diedre in the Adventure Mart. If she's not there you can install the Bonus Merchant Mod which adds her and Joluv ( Copper Coronet) and you won't have to restart your game.
