Paladin quests: The Baron

I went to do the Baron quest, and went to talk to him right away. I knew his intentions were evilly intended, so I refused to help him. Now I can't find the squatters (or at least, none of the farmers are talking about the baron or anything). if I go talk to the baron, he refuses to talk to me, saying he knows my intentions are against him. Can I just attack him and be done with it still?

Set PaladinPlot to 12 and then attack the baron.

ah, thanks. Too bad I already passed that point. I went back and heard the baron already killed the squatters. Did I miss anything interesting now? Any cool equipment and the like?

Thanks for the tip...I checked this out first and now I don't have to restart my palidin!
